Sunset Dragons are closely related to sunrise dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunset Dragons generally live alone or in small packs. They are more active in the evening, hunting and performing all of their daily tasks as the sun sets.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Dimas was found by a human at a very young age, and he stayed with the man well into his adult years. Together they participated in a dragon battling league where dragons would fight each other on their human's behalf until one of them was knocked unconscious. Dimas and his owner fought their way to the top of the league; eventually they became the final test in a dragon trainer's path to glory. None could defeat them, not until the day where one clever trainer discovered Dimas' weakness: he was lactose intolerant. Using the power of frozen dairy products, their opponent defeated Dimas and took the title of the greatest dragon trainer in the land. Overcome by guilt and shame, Dimas fled, and the clan welcomed him as they would any other dragon. Today Dimas still misses his trainer and friend, but figures that he has probably outlived the man by now. Sometimes he still has dreadful nightmares, and he'll wake up in a cold sweat as he remembers the day that ice cream defeated him.
