Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Nerscylla is a dragon draped in dull hides, dried and cracked skins carved from his favorite prey. A very solitary cavern-dweller, nearly all surfaces in his grotto are seeded with magical traps. Any creature careless enough to be snagged in these he approaches from the dark, out of whatever nook in which he had been hiding, skittering across both ceiling and wall alike in a manner best described as resembling the movement of a spider. The lair even echoes the image of a dusty corner in which such an arachnid may live: the bodies of dispatched prey, in all manner of integrality, litter the floor. Some of the more intact remains even hang high above to slowly turn in the musty air currents, macabre decorations twisted in filthy chains.
