Dragons are creatures with nearly unlimited life spans. They can survive for long periods of time, and no one has found a dragon that has died of old age. Adolescence is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. Once they hit adolescence, hatchlings change quickly, maturing to their full forms in only 2 years.
Dragons don’t communicate with each other verbally, but they will growl to scare off predators and frighten prey. Young dragons will emit an extremely high-pitched squeal when they are frightened. To communicate, they use telepathy with each other and to speak to other creatures.
Silver dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Male silver dragons hunt and eat meat. While not as beautiful or radiant as females, silver males possess better physical attributes, such as strength.
Obsidian MacGyver once walked in the shoes of a dragonslayer.
Throughout the years of his work, the thought that the great beasts he fought off would ever strike back had never crossed his mind until he was assigned to deal with a certain black dragon that had been frightening the villagers of a small mountain town called Fortcrest. When he had climbed up the summit to face the creature in her cave, he was surprised to hear a spell of some ancient tongue echoing through the rocky walls. Before MacGyver knew it, a pink bolt of lightning burst from the darkness and threw him to the ground with a painful zap.
As he got to his feet, he rubbed his aching head...and realized that his fingers were brushing against scales. Startled, he quickly brought his hand to his face and could only stare at the claws that now replaced his nails.
From out of the depths of the cave, a dragon as black as the very shadows she had emerged from approached him; a wily smirk snaking its way across her face.
