Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Electric yellow scales shimmer brightly across its belly, and an even brighter spark adorns its tail.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Naughty is a rather precocious little hatchling in terms of his awareness of the adult world. He says rude things to shock the girls and watches them while they're grooming. Naughty has also been known to peek up the scales of an unsuspecting dragoness and has had his ear clipped and his tail nipped many a time for his exploits. His real name is considered so indecent by members of the Weyr that Naughty was given to him as a nickname for his tomfoolery and cheek.
