Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Tsume's tomboyish character comes from her father. She has always plainly refused to be more 'woman-like' and in that always found an ally in Tiki Mikk, who always told her she was perfect the way she was. As a hatchling she developed a crush on him, but thinking he only saw her as his little niece she tried to get over it. As an adult she grew calmer like her mother, but inside she had always kept a nagging feeling she couldn't place, until Tiki asked her if she would be his life mate. The nagging feeling disappeared and everything fell into place. Having found her soul mate, she is happier than she ever was. Especially after becoming a mother, she understands Tiki's urge to protect the clan better than ever before and is devoted to help her life mate in anyway she can.
