Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon... except for the tangle of dangerous-looking vines surrounding it...

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Brahken is best friends with his brother, Forryst. He is rather anti-social, and the other hatchlings have learnt not to get too close to his vines. He tries, he really does, but sometimes he forgets and his vines lash out at the nearest dragon. Because of this Forryst and Brahken usually play in the forest, away from the other hatchlings. The brothers are called 'weird' by the other hatchies, but Brahken doesn't mind.
