Lumina Dragons received their names from their highly reflective scales, which—at times—seem to glow. They are vain, always strutting about and preening incessantly; if one of their scales has so much as a scratch or a defect, they’ll remove it. Luckily, their scales grow back quickly, and each new growth is more beautiful than the last. These narcissistic dragons live in small groups and prefer to surround themselves with beauty. The females guard their territory and eggs while the males search for vegetation to eat.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Nuanen, like the other Lumina dragons, is very vain. He is in fact so vain, he refuses to leave the cave, and gets his food off the scraps of whatever wasn't eaten from the latest meal. While he is beautiful,(Hence his name, Naunen, which means 'beautiful' in the Ancient Language.) he is very unhealthy, and refuses to trek out of the cave to seek healers. Because of his lack of experience, it is found that he is not the smartest dragon, and it is also believed he is mentally ill.
