Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It doesn’t move much, and appears to be covered in stone.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing. However, the wings look too heavy to fly and are filled with beautiful crystal.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Unlike the other Turret dragons, Rocket Turret does not usually attack dragons who try to run GLaDOS' tests. Instead, the young Geode has attached himself to GLaDOS herself, never straying from her side. For a time, he was considered little more than a nuisance, and received many threats and even attacks from the Stripe. Yet he tolerated them, and one day managed to show he could be useful- when a Magi named Chell made her way to GLaDOS' cave, determined to take her down, Rocket Turret caught the light on his bright wings, attempting to blind the Magi so his 'mother' could fight. Of course, they lost in the end, but this event gained him a permanent place in whatever heart GLaDOS might have.
