Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Emerald in the Night is so named for his one gleaming emerald-coloured eye against his black-as-night scales. Having lost the other one in battle, he can no longer see as well as his other cavemates. None of them dare tease him about it though, for he is known to get quite violent if they do.

Emerald is a possessive dragon. He will go his limits to protect whatever it is he is guarding, be it his jewels or even his mate, Twilight Vines.

But no matter what rumors the other dragons tell about him, Emerald hasn't always been this nasty. The truth is, he's only begun to act sorrow, and somewhat threatening only since his daughter was lost after leaving the cave to explore the nearby forest.

Night Haven is his best friend; they met when they were hatchlings.
