Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Though her hide gleams as brightly as any of her species, Glimmering Vengeance's heart is filled with darkness. Glimmering Vengeance began life as a happy hatchling, who was always curious about new things and dreamed of exploring the lands when she grew up. Alas, growing up was never to be. No sooner had Glimmering gendered then an anti-aging spell was cast upon her and she was trapped forever as a hatchling. Though her lust for knowledge is still there, her yearnings to explore the lands will never be fulfilled for she will never grow big enough to be out on her own.
