Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. This dragon has a strange book that he always carries, bound shut with a ribbon stronger than any chains, the words "Grimoire of Alice" written across the cover in a silver ink that shines unnaturally in the low light of the cave where he lives. Nobody knows what is written in the book aside from him, and the book's other owner, a magician girl who occasionally comes to him to ask about it. Some think he is guarding the book from potential thieves, as it has the aura of a powerful magic tome. The truth is, he is guarding everyone else from the contents of the Grimoire.
