Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Born during the rule of Constantine, Kostantinos takes her name from the great Emperor. This is ironic, as the great Emperor took Kostans' family from her. As was common at the time, the dragon's golden family was killed and Kostans' egg given to Constantina, the Emperor's daughter. The young dragon saw firsthand the founding of Constantinople, the dawn of Christianity, and in due time, the fall of the Roman Empire.

Decades since the death of Constantina, Kostans saw the defeat of Romulus Augustus and the Sack of Rome, the end of history as she knew it. The desolate dragon, devoid of both her families, her cities, her Empire, saw the rise and fall of every succeeding power through empty eyes. She saw all but a single record of his Constantina's life destroyed, saw herself lost to the sands of time.

Now Kostans lives alone, haunting Istanbul and the shores of the Golden Horn. The sailors know her as the golden spirit who keens sorrow across the waves, and they name the waters for her.
