Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Saying that Lieutenant Lidisnil is silly is like saying that Caveborn Golds are a slightly uncommon breed. The Red Dragon that incubated his egg sneezed on it, and this must have affected the poor hatchling negatively. His first bite was a rock.

Yet life has its ups and downs. As a Corporal of the Blood-Shedders, an army of delusional Vampires, he and his comrade Derm were assigned to scout a small area near a lake, which was casually the hideout of a tribe of ritual-sacrifice-addicted Pygmies. In the search for the perfect candidate to create the Ultimate Undead Dragon, they kidnapped Lidisnil and tried to sacrifice him to a volcano (well, it actually was an anthill, but you get the idea). However, his loyal partner Derm lost no time and managed to rescue him from the Tribe.

Life is also unfair, though. Upon their discovery, Lidisnil was ascended to Lieutenant, while Derm remained as a Corporal. Since then, Derm searches for revenge, and Lidisnil searches for... dirt between his toes.
