Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

When Cameo first came to the clan, no dragons thought that the gravely sick, newly born hatchling could escape the clutch of death. However, she did survive not only that feverish night but also the many moons of ailment that followed. Even though Cameos illness disappeared when she grown up, it had left her its devastating inheritance with a body just a little larger than a Mint and an almost non-existent magic ability.

Cameo is always too aware of her condition. She knows that she can never battle other dragons face to face, and so, taking advantage of her small body, she dedicates her self to the delicate art of stealth instead. Avoiding direct fights in open space, she chooses her battlefield where there are plenty places to hide. Alternating between hiding and attacking, she trashes defense, mixing her enemies' confusion and the element of surprise into her victory. Her guerilla-like fighting style earns her the name 'Cameo', which means 'Shadow Portrait'.
