Royal Crimson Dragons are so named due to their massive size and confident, regal bearing. Most of the time they are laid back, ignoring non-prey creatures smaller than themselves, although they will occasionally take fresh kills from other dragons as a reminder of their place in the social order. Although there are few other dragons large enough to pose a threat to Royal Crimsons, they have little tolerance for potential rivals and will fiercely defend their territory from such intruders.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Labidia always lived a privileged life, born to parents with extraordinary hoards, gifted with intelligence and beauty, she never had a care in the world. But then destiny reared its ugly head and granted her a position of great responsibility and added powers only to bind her together with some of the most irritating dragons she has ever known: Akuma, the terrible trickster Pink dragoness, Kimono the Fever and—while she actually likes the young Soulpeace Sui—Berret the green Stripe hatchling who absolutely disgusts her.

And just when she began to make peace with those dragonesses she had to fall in love with Aku's cousin Lavagg  (which helped quite a bit to warm her towards the Pink) only to have him lose part of himself in some dangerous magical ritual. If it wasn't absolutely inappropriate for a young lady like herself, she would use some pretty choice words to describe her life ever since she was chosen for such a "great" destiny.
