Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The only thing Kok Remorse wanted was a child. Even when she was a small hatchling herself, she saw mothers and fathers caring for their children and wished she could do the same. When Maneg Ruz handed her the egg stolen from King Vampiro and Queen Vampira, she nearly died from joy. She never thought of it the way Maneg did. She never thought about biting it, and keeping it alive with no risks. She was pleased when Maneg asked her to be his mate, though she never paid much attention to him and paid more attention to his gift. He seemed not to mind, as he didn't love her, just was helping her. Kok lived a happy life in the clan while her child was an egg and easy to hide but when it hatched some dragons became repulsed about her keeping a non-dragon egg and kicked her and the egg out. She gathered around more non-vampire kids and created a clan of her own, a clan called Misfit Clan. She was angry at the others and decided that she would destroy them.
