Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It is clearly a water animal.

And look! Its fins have grown larger! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Child of Eternity was one of the first few hatchlings in her cave to never grow up. At first the other dragons figured she was just a late bloomer but as time progressed they realized that she was never going to mature. In the beginning Child of Eternity wanted nothing more than to mature. She was envious of all the other hatchlings who she watched become dragons around her. However, as other hatchlings began to not grow up she formed a sort of club in which all the hatchlings would get together to play and learn. Soon, with all their new friends very few still regretted their frozen state.
