Silver Dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Male Silvers hunt and eat meat. While not as beautiful or radiant as females, silver males possess better physical attributes, such as strength.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

"Captain" Jean-Luc Picard has a commanding presence in the cave. He's well-known for giving orders and saying "Make it so," and the others humor him. "Commander" Data of Enterprise is his shiny golden companion, giving him advice and counsel as is his wont. His actions lead to a more peaceable existence for most of the dragons in the federation that he defends, and his pride in his work is evident in its quality. While he may not be physically the strongest dragon around, his moral and intellectual leadership is noteworthy and commendable.
