Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This dragon began life as a runt, cast out by his parents. He weighed only two kilograms when he hatched, and the human who rescued him, charmed by his dark scales and diminutive size, named him Two Kilograms of Shadows. Perhaps because of this beginning, he has always been obsessed with quantifying things. He always wants to know how many, how long, how wide, how deep, how fast, how tall. As a hatchling, he carefully tallied up all his kills, and once spent a whole weekend counting every last one of his scales. The other dragons think he is a little odd, which bothers him—not because he's worried about their opinions, but because he's never been able to determine exactly how odd they think he is.
