This hatchling appears to be... dead?

Perhaps not. It seems to be active during the night.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Nicknamed Devve (pronounced Dehv-vee), Devastating Lurker is an ambitious vampire hatchling who comes from a strange background. He was adopted by a pair of parents who are not alike at all; a vine and a striped dragon. Both wanting to teach their son only the best, taught Devve their specialities; Lurking and being a devastating fighter. Being young and not yet efficient at multitasking, Devve attempts to do both at once, because he loves both parents very much even though they are weird.
