Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It is clearly a water animal.
And look! Its fins have grown larger! It must be close to maturing.
Young dragons are relatively defenseless. Their scales don’t grow in until right before they mature, and they have almost no strength. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are usually left alone by their mother and begin to hunt and survive on their own.
This little hatchling considered himself quite the cool cat. A rumor claimed he'd escaped from his first owner's clutches as soon as he could, taking to the coast and cheerfully declaring himself a wild dragon--only to be nabbed by some cackling new owner who went on and on about "not having a frozen of that gender yet." He's not quite sure what she means, but he plans to be a free dragon again before he has to find out! If only he knew...
