Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon... except for the tangle of dangerous-looking vines surrounding it...

Now there are even more vines. Perhaps something is happening?

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Once upon a time, this dragon's owner took a piece of paper and wrote upon it information about him. However, there was a horrible mix up involving some misplaced records, spilled ink, incorrect archiving, and a really confused Red dragon, and the dragon's information was forever lost (and replaced with a different dragon's bio to boot). Upon discovering the calamity, his owner poked through the records, sighed, and finally declared "well, at least he wasn't a more important dragon, because I'm not rewriting that junk." And thus to this day the poor little Vine dragon remains confused about who and what he's supposed to be.
