Sunset Dragons are closely related to sunrise dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunset Dragons generally live alone or in small packs. They are more active in the evening, hunting and performing all of their daily tasks as the sun sets.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Shemech is a leader-born dragon with a lot of charisma; every time he speaks everyone stops talking and listens to him. He cares for her mate, Ayael, and loves their children, and even though he can be strict he is always fair. What happened between him and Hiervan d'Estrial is taboo, and even though he abandoned Saika, their child, he always regretted it, but even so he doesn't want to recognize his own cowardice.
