Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

RedMarlenn is a Red dragon and fortunately, nothing like Rose Satin, the elder Red dragon in the family. Good natured to the point of being meek, RedMarlenn has never been known to so much as bare her fangs or claws. She spends a lot of time cleaning up the family caves, which, to her distress, almost immediately get messed up again. She also likes sunbathing, which she believes improves her fire breathing skills. RedMarlenn is amazingly talented at conjuring images in her fire. She knows which herbs she can chew to tint the flames in different colors and how to use her fangs and tongue to mold the fire into different shapes. It has also been found that the patterns in the fire she breathes out sometimes show hints of the future, so RedMarlenn's ability is always put to use in the evening.
