Cheese Dragons are not actually alive. They are enchanted items of food that act almost identically to dragons. They have no need to eat, but they must “live” in humid environments or they will dry out and harden.

The first and oldest of Arbata's Cheese dragon helpers, Gorgonzola does his job well but rarely with a smile. He does the majority of the hard labor required to keep her small shop running smoothly, including carrying buckets of milk and tending to the cows. Most of this is because of his salty personality; Arbata feels it is best to keep him away from customers. Those that do meet him are often shocked by his bite and sharp tone, he doesn't have the greatest skills when it comes to interacting with other dragons and prefers to keep to himself. Despite his shortcomings, Arbata sees him as a valuable worker, and one that she'll be keeping around for as long as she can. Most likely because he doesn't taste very good.
