Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon... except for the tangle of dangerous-looking vines surrounding it...

Now there are even more vines. Perhaps something is happening?

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

BLT is named after her favorite food, BLT sandwiches. If one looks carefully (careful as in: avoiding to become part of the dragon's lunch), one will see that the red items in this dragon's vines are not flowers, they are tomatoes. And there is always some lettuce growing between the vines. As for the bacon, she doesn't care much if it is actual bacon; any meat will do. Maybe such a diet is not sufficient to grow up to become a healthy adult dragon; it could well explain why she is forever a small hatchling. But BLT likes the way she lives, and would not want it any other way.
