Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Emerald lives deep beneath the earth with his mate, Thorn, and their offspring. Both dragons are most comfortable underground, as Emerald is an earth dragon and Thorn is a vine dragon. He is very close to Thorn, but being able to fly more places than Thorn can dig, and having traveled which she was still a hatchling, he has several other friends, such as Blue Blaze, and Lady Lavender and her sister Carnation. He prefers not to remain in the air, however, and stays with Thorn all the time now that they're starting a family.
