Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Maiden Jelly the Pink has quite a sweet tooth. She is always bothering her master, pestering her for sweets. One day, her master decided to put a stop to this, and trick her. When Maiden Jelly begged for a bit of candy, her master handed her what appeared to be a lump of sugar. When Maiden Jelly began sucking on it, however, it soon became apparent that this little lump was not sweet at all, but sour. Her master had harvested a rare, sour plant known as the Snide, which is noted for the sour juice that comes from within it to stop animals from eating it. With a big of magic, her master had disguised a bit of sap she had collected as a sugar cube.

However, her master's plan back-fired. It soon became apparent that Maiden Jelly had a sour tooth as well. Now, her master is plagued by Maiden Jelly's demands for snide juice.
