Script Dragons are named for the markings along their wings and sides that look almost like calligraphy. The patterns correspond to no known language, and are slightly different on every dragon. These dragons only develop the characteristic markings when they reach maturity, and they are fairly capable with magic once the patterns appear.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Reccad is a dragon who is proud of his marks. So proud in fact that he has a journal cataloging all his individual marks and where they are on his body. The red fins on his Tidal Dragon mate always tend to catch his eye and with a flash of her tail she can talk him in to almost anything. Each day he checks on his son, a young Script and his daughter a young Tidal. He looks forward to the day his son gains his marks and wonders if his daughter may get some of her own. Due to his fascination with marks he has starting keeping a daily journal in which he changes his script of choice from day to day.
