Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. Its skin is smooth and doesn’t seem to have any color to it.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Kimba was kidnapped as a little egg after her father got killed by humans. She hatched in captivity and was faced with the very worst humanity has to offer. But instead of despairing or learning to hate humans, she kept her eyes and ears open and learned whatever she could, eventually even mastering her telepathy enough that she could expand it to humans.

When her captors learned of Kimba's intelligence a few of them regretted their behaviour and they let her leave to make her own way in the world.

She has since then joined Herk's clan of ragtag dragons and plans to stay there and learn as long as it takes. But ultimately she wants to return to the wilderness once she grows up to teach the dragons there all that she has learned.
