Sunstone Dragons are named after the orb on their tails, which resembles the gem of the same name. Their social structure resembles a lion pride, with one dominant male and several females banded together with their young. They prefer arid climates where they can blend in and dig for minerals and gemstones that they not only collect, but eat. The more gems they consume, the larger their tail stone grows. They are an aggressive breed; it is not uncommon to see two males battling for mates and territory.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Orben is a natural leader, and as such, is strong, disciplined, and patient with those in his care. He is very protective of younglings, rather they be dragon, drake, Pygmy or human, and does not care for those who are judgmental and proud, as they tend to look down on anyone who isn't like them. Though Orben is a stickler for the rules, he is open-hearted towards others, and though he strives to keep order in his group, he allows others to be themselves. He is also very compassionate, and gentle with those he loves. All of these traits combined make him a great mate for Winona and her adventurous spirit. He, like anybody however, has his faults; primarily his inability to think outside of the box due to his staunch logic. Not to say he isn't smart, he is, it's just that...he isn't very creative. Thankfully, his humility allows him to hear the ideas of others as well as give credit where credit is due. He is well like bed by his group as a result.
