Pyralspite dragons are small, swift dragons that can breathe an intensely hot flame. They get their name from their resemblance to and affinity for garnets of the pyralspite family—they hoard such gems, preferring garnets that match their variant, and can tell the type of garnet from how it tastes. The red-violet variant is referred to as Almandine. Almandine Pyralspites are more aggressive than others of the same breed, and are very witty and love to mock or insult their opponents. They inhabit mountainous areas.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Affectionately known as "Bug" by his human, Hot Glitch doesn't really understand the name he was given. The first bit made sense once it was explained since his egg was found near the Volcano, but he's never been able to wrap his mind around the meaning of "glitch". He knows he's different from others of his species who normally come from the Volcano as several Pyrope dragons also call this colony home, but he's easily angered when they think his differences are a bad thing. His human has assured him that it isn't really a bad thing; his type of pyralspite is rare. Such a bright Almandine was far from what was expected when he matured. The subtle difference in color went unnoticed while he was a hatchling, and the human who tends this colony was quite certain she'd pilfered a Pyrope egg... but stranger things have happened. Regardless of his origin, Bug's quick wit and (sometimes snarky) sense of humor make him a valued member of the colony.
