Silver Dragons are arguably one of the most beautiful types of dragons. They live in high altitude habitats such as mountains. Male Silvers hunt and eat meat. While not as beautiful or radiant as females, silver males possess better physical attributes, such as strength.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The Dusk Derelict was named long before his life had physically passed that stage. Even as a hatchling, however, Dusk was a solemn creature, serving no fun to his littermates. Kad's clan explained away his unusual maturity by his zombie parentage (how scandalous!) and mothering (Gender Confusion, the alternately exuberant and snappy brood mother, was sick during the years of his youth). It never occurred to them that a dragon raised in such a clan so violent and so proud of its insane members could raise such a dismal thing.
