Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

If someone asks any dragon of Tiga's Tribe if they know this dragon, they will reply: "Her—yes of course." Vexed Red is a well known dragon in her tribe, perhaps entitled to be called famous. No matter what title she holds, her job is mighty important. Vexed Red (or Vexed for short) is the leader of the Star Readers, a group of Nebulae that stay up during the night, reading the stars to predict the future. She is often the last one to go to sleep, and has even been found reading the stars all night that when she began to record the information on scrolls, she is fast asleep. Vexed makes sure all the information is told to her first. Due to the Star Reader's ability to predict the future, there is now a tradition where everyday, when evening falls, the tribe gathers in the main cave. Near the end, Vexed will speak of the future, informing the tribe of future eggs, or deaths. However the events do not come with a date of when it will happen.
