Flamingo Wyverns are so named for their resemblance to the tropical birds with whom they often share territory. Their most striking feature is the bony black crest over their faces and snouts, larger in males, aiding both in digging up food and protection when fighting for mates. Males are duller in color than females due to their habit of wandering from nest to nest and picking from less algae-rich feeding grounds.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

A large, aggressive brute, Flamminko despises humans and makes sure that none of his close-knit family ever stray far enough to encounter any. Humans destroyed his tropical home and killed his former mate. He makes sure that any human he sees is on the receiving end of his over-sized pointed crest. His large wings are also splendid for battering opponents. Strangely enough for his kind, he enjoys flamingo meat, but his family keeps him from eating too much.
