Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

13th is a Magi found just after Halloween one year. She was abandoned as a hatchling, cast aside by her previous guardian for reasons she still isn't sure of. Because of this she really dislikes humans, being reluctant to remain in her owner's cave on all but the rainiest, coldest days.

Her mate, Swat Monster, is okay with this, as he trusts her completely. This trust weighs heavily on 13th's mind, as she isn't confident of her abilities to defend him if the need arises, having hurt him by mistake once before when he tried to intervene when she and White Sticky Wing Thing fought over the leadership of the cave. The battle turned into a melee, with the Ember dragon, Gargling, coming out on top, and both she and Wing Thing were demoted to the bottom of the pecking order. She hates Wing Thing almost as much as she hates people, believing the white dragon to pander way too much to the humans' needs.
