Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Snuggle is the baby of the clan. It doesn't matter whether one is a fighter or a mage, sweet or harsh- no dragon can resist Snuggle's charm and innocent smile. He loves crawling up onto adults' backs or stomachs to take naps, and will sometimes even climb out to the very tip of a dragon's tail, to be waved back and forth very carefully through the air. An eternal optimist, Snuggle is quite sure that he'll grow wings someday, despite constant assurances that mint dragons can't fly.
