Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Hyii is an inveterate traveler who has been everywhere and seen everything—or so he says—and will gladly tell anyone who will listen all about his experiences.  While he is extremely self-centered, and never shows much interest in the adventures of other dragons, his stories are interesting enough that most dragons will at least try to put up with him for a day or two.  Hyii also has an unfortunate tendency to try to top anyone's experience with a far superior one of his own.  If some dragon tells him how she once met the legendary guardian Kalazor, he will counter with how he personally single-handedly rescued Kalazor from two dozen bloodthirsty vampire dragons.
