Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has bright blue eyes, and is as clumsy as any other hatchling, but it never seems to get injured.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Bardhyyl is definitely thought of as "hot stuff" by the girl dragons and hatchlings he associates with. He knows how to talk to get the girls to practically fall over him. He is always clean and his job with Keiten and Teiek as a Guard of Heaven is very rewarding when it comes to meeting girls. He never comes home from a trip without another adoring fan club waiting for him to venture out of the reach of his cave and his clan to become a free dragon, then they will pounce. He isn't much of a gentleman but most of the girls are too interested in his mysteriousness that they let most of his mistakes slide. But Bard has a secret, he is in love with another frozen hatchling in his cave, her name, Larkk. Their secret relationship is kept from everyone so that they do not get thought less of. But OH, how they wish they could tell the world.
