Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Hyej was never supposed to be more than the backup healer, to be called in if the primary healer found himself badly stumped or desperately in need of another pair of claws. He had no real practical experience, though his knowledge of healing was extensive, but he never viewed this as a liability. Then, a malicious spell sent the expedition he was on halfway around the world and far into the past, killing the primary healer in the process, and Hyej found himself in charge of the well-being of dozens of dragons. There was a lengthy adjustment process on both sides, but Hyej has gradually come to terms with his new responsibilities. He's never quite lost his ability to quickly and efficiently get under the nerves of just about anyone, but he's also made some unlikely friends. Hyej still longs to get back to his proper time and place, where he can make a proper name for himself and have time to properly indulge in his hobbies.
