Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Chiai is crazy for blood and doesn't care if he killed an egg that he bit. He uses the excuse that he will transform the egg into a vampire in order to hide his true intentions. But in fact, all he wants to do is to eat them. At least he wasn't as gory before he met his Master.

In the past every night, he yearned for fresh, pure and scarlet colored blood. His craziness has started influencing his other room mates(as they live in the same mountain) and they began growing scared of him. Regularly, he sang a creepy lullaby with the most grotesque verses improvised by himself, accompanied by a grim melody. In order to keep themselves safe, other dragons decided together that it was best to keep him locked in a cell from the rest of the world.

His current master was the one who freed him from his cell after a thousand years of solitude. And now in order to repay his debt, he's willing to offer him some services and create himself a vampire army in the meantime.
