Paper Dragons are not truly living creatures. They are pieces of parchment enchanted by magic, and as such, are very vulnerable to fire. However, they behave almost like dragons. The only place where their behavior differs is breeding: paper dragons cannot breed.

In a fit of anger over a particularly difficult spell, a powerful wizard crumpled up a parchment and threw it across the room. It collided with a bottle of potion and Ancient Runes was born. This little paper dragon has become the wizard's constant companion. He knows that Runes is just a scrap of paper, but because of its fiery personality, he firmly believes that it is female. She sits perched on his shoulder while he works, overseeing his spell crafting. Constantly excitable, she chirrups like a bird and flies in crazy circles around the wizard's head. The wizard always has to be careful to keep Runes away from his cat. It makes her nervous when it licks it lips and watches her with those huge yellow eyes.
