Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It has large frills on its head.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Hyskeg is the quietest of the Frill Exhibit's three frozen frill hatchlings.  He's the last to join in any games and is easily bullied by Jaspec.  The dragontenders sometimes worry that Hyskeg is too shy, and have talked about moving him to another exhibit.  However, the only other exhibit with other frozen hatchlings is the Hatchling Exhibit, and he'd be worse off among the rowdy stripe quartet than he would be among his own kind.  Luckily, Eurikk, though a different breed, has proven to be a good friend and loyal protector.
