Dorsal Dragons are so named because they have large fins along their backs that can be raised and lowered at will. They use these fins to regulate body temperature; they raise them to cool off when they become overheated. The bright colors on the fins double as a means of attracting mates.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

There are many legends surrounding this creature... tales of misery, of curses, of horrors better left unspoken. There are very few facts to be found beneath so much myth, but there are some; a dark dragon with flaring red eyes traveling the moors, carrying always an immense ruby. And there are the stories of those who have attempted to steal the stone, and barely escaped with their lives. The way the dragon attacked with a strength beyond her size, the way the gem shone with its own light. And beyond it all, the voices that rang in their heads as they fled the phantom...

You do not want this burden. Better that I should send you on, than that you should carry this burden...
