Sophrosyne Dragons are a rare sight, typically making themselves known only to protect and heal the vulnerable. A visit from one serves as a reminder that kindness prevails, and that there’s always hope for positive change. While it is known that they possess the power to reverse botched spells, some claim they can even cure methodically-cast curses. This has never been formally documented, but these dragons have been seen arriving in the aftermath of violence, and the scars of tragedy seem to heal faster in their wake. The feathers of a Sophrosyne have thus become a symbol of perseverance and light in the face of darkness.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

No one's quite sure what happened to Sunny while he was in his egg, or maybe it's due to his mother's name. Sunny hatched wholly convinced he was a nebula dragon, and nothing anyone says has managed to convince him otherwise.

Sunny has a dream, a dream of flying higher and farther than any nebula dragon has ever flown. He's sure that from a higher height, he'll be better able to view the nebula after which he has attempted to pattern his wings. To make his dream possible, he spends hours every night flying. He tests the air currents to see how they will help him. He does exercises to keep his wings strong and supple. He eats only the healthiest foods, determined to keep his body at its fittest. Once in a while, he'll initiate a flying contest with the actual nebulas in the cave, just to prove to himself that he's still on track with his goal. He's sure that one of these days, he'll manage to outfly every last one of them and hopes that day will come soon since it hasn't yet happened!
