Water Walkers are small dragons that are frequently found around bogs and ponds. While they are flightless, they retain the flight sacs and hollow bones of their airborne cousins. These traits, coupled with their extraordinarily long, webbed toes, allow them to stand on top of calm waters, using their small sails to propel them wherever they please. They spend the majority of their lives on the water, retreating to the tops of lily pads when the waters become too rough to float atop.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

As the eldest, Mist is the matriarch of the cave, ruling from a special perch in the assembly chamber that has been specially carved to have a fountain-fed pool atop.  It looms over all the other possible seatings in the chamber, so as to give her a position of power despite her small stature.

A major concern of hers has been breeding a proper heir with her mate Gelutum, but none of her children have proven up to the task of someday taking her place. Worse, it has led to bad blood between her and Mortaira, who slew many of Mist's unborn children in her own quest to create an heir.

Mist is a wise and just ruler, but has trouble seeing things from the perspective of the younger residents of the cave, which brings them into conflicts over old traditions which are opposed by the newer generations.

A secret of hers is that her self-granted title of "the Aqua" actually has no meaning, and is merely a phrase she thought sounded regal when she was younger.
