Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Delicate in flight and stature, Rainbow is such a rarely-seen dragon that his presence is considered a mirage. Native inhabitants of the Ger Cliffs pass down stories of him to their children, saying even the glimpse of his golden tail brings a life of good fortune and love and cures the worst of curses. Because of this lavish lore, Rainbow's presence is sought out all over the cliffs, by visitors and natives alike.

However, it is this exact legend which makes Rainbow such a recluse. He does not like humans, and prefers to stay away from them at all times, instead preferring the company of other dragons. He finds humans to be annoying and repetitive, especially when they so ferociously try to find his hiding spot, but he refuses to move from the cliffs because he really likes the fish there.
