Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Nyctophiliac is so named because of her love of the darkness—not only physical darkness, but by anything dark. She is obsessed with things that are occult and strange to others. She mates to a Marrow and stays out of the way of the lighter dragons.

Her favourite pastime is to sit by the balloon dragons with large slabs of cake and call out "No cake for you, fatties!" and to then scoff it all. Because of this, she is much disliked by most dragons, but those with a dark sense of humor tend to like her company.

She is oblivious to her own faults, thinking that she is perfect and has been in trouble on multiple occasions for calling the pygmies 'Doc', 'Happy', 'Grumpy', 'Dopey', 'Sneezy', 'Sleepy', 'Bashful' and 'HEY, YOU! SHORT BUTT!'"

Despite her mean streak she does have a soft spot, though she prefers to fill that with food. Luckily for her, her high metabolism doesn't allow her to put on weight.

She has been a tormenting dragon since she was a hatchling, and doesn't intend to change.
