Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It sleeps a lot, but when it’s awake, it’s quite a handful.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Tabby is one of Goldenfield Village's many pillow dragon hatchlings.  With her habit of approaching within arm's reach looking for pats, only to shy away when someone tries to pat her, she manages to be either endearing or annoying, depending on who one asks.  Tabby has also never learned that running in front of people can be dangerous both to them and to her, making her a frequent liability.  Still, she's cute, as well as quite sweet and loving if one is patient enough, so the residents for the most part don't mind putting up with her flaws.
