Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The second most aggressive dragon in the Ruda Clan after his mate, Takrama the Wrathful, Jarogniew the Tyrannical believes might is right. He intentionally picks fights, even with dragons that have done nothing to wrong him. As a result, he is constantly being lectured and disciplined and greatly disliked not only in the clan, but by all dragons in the area. Jarogniew is a great fighter, and even better at intimidation. This makes him very useful in times of war, but very difficult to live with otherwise. He has even been banned from the nursery because the hatchlings fear him so much. As Jarogniew's behavior has not yet hurt anyone in the clan, he is allowed to stay. But if that ever changes, he will find that he's not as mighty as he thinks he is.
